WOD formats you can time
Tabata is 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest for 8 rounds. An EMOM (every minute on the minute) starts a new set of reps at the top of every minute. An AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) is one block of time where you keep moving through the workout. Interval WODs alternate fixed work and rest periods, such as 2 minutes on and 1 minute off.
How to set up each format
For an EMOM, make work and rest add up to 60 seconds and set one round per minute: the "rest" call becomes your 10-second warning and "work" marks the next minute. For an AMRAP, set 1 round and make the work time the length of the AMRAP, up to 999 seconds (about 16 and a half minutes). For an E2MOM, make each round 120 seconds.
Built for the gym floor
Prop your phone on a box or plate, or cast it to a TV. The countdown shows the seconds left and the current round, the screen stays on, and every switch is announced, so you never have to look up mid-rep.
What this timer doesn't do
This is a countdown interval timer, so it doesn't count up for "for time" WODs. Use an AMRAP-length interval as your time cap and note your finish time when you're done.
